Beware of COVID-19 scams

BEWARE OF SCAMMERS/PRICE GOUGERS
 
As much as I would like to have complete confidence in our fellow citizens, past experiences have shown and proven that we will have individuals and fly-by-night businesses attempt to take advantage of this crisis.
 
WORD OF ADVICE- BEWARE!!!!! 
 
National reports are describing so called experts going door to door selling a cure.  Give me a break.
 
Do not sign or make a down payment for service from anyone you do not know ... Especially those located outside our Central Texas community. Be vigilant, ask questions, seek referrals, be smart, and use common sense.

Federal authorities have set up a website and phone number where people can report scams or fraud related to the coronavirus pandemic.

To report suspected fraud schemes, call the National Center for Disaster Fraud (NCDF) hotline at 1-866-720-5721 or email a report to [email protected].
