The United Way of Central Texas United Way operates 2-1-1 Texas / United Way HELPLINE, a key information source for those impacted – they are maintaining the most current information on shelters, basic needs assistance, and long-term recovery support.

The United Way of Central Texas has established a Tornado Relief Fund. The centralized fund aims to streamline the donation process, ensuring resources are distributed efficiently and effectively to those most affected by the tornado in Bell County.

U.S. SBA Disaster Resources - disaster declaration (TX-20010)
Federal disaster loans are for homeowners and renters, plus BUSINESSES OF ALL SIZES, non-profit organizations, faith-based organizations, small aquaculture businesses, and small agricultural cooperatives impacted by the storms. All can apply for their uncompensated losses – i.e. their insurance wasn’t enough to complete their repairs or they didn’t have insurance.

Texas workforce Commission - Disaster Unemployment Assistance
The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is accepting applications for Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) in counties impacted by the severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes, and flooding that began on April 26. The amended Presidential Disaster Declaration now includes Bell, Calhoun, Collin, Cooke, Denton, Eastland, Guadalupe, Hardin, Harris, Henderson, Jasper, Jones, Lamar, Liberty, Montague, Montgomery, Polk, San Jacinto, Trinity, Tyler, Walker, and Waller Counties.
Workers and self-employed individuals in the designated counties who have been unable to work due to damage sustained from the severe weather may be eligible for DUA benefits. Individuals can apply for benefits online through Unemployment Benefit Services or by calling TWC at (800) 939-6631 between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Individuals should specify that their applications are related to the damage caused by severe weather. Applications for DUA benefits under this declaration must be submitted by July 16, 2024.
