Founded in 1907 as the Temple Commercial Club, the Temple Chamber of Commerce has played a pivotal role in shaping Temple's trajectory. From the attraction of Fort Hood and creation of Lake Belton to the founding of Temple College and the siting of I-35, our legacy of advocacy and development is unmatched. More recently, the Temple Chamber demonstrated critical leadership during events like the COVID-19 pandemic, Winter Storm Uri, and the 2024 tornado disaster, mobilizing resources through its #TempleStrong network.
As the business environment evolves, so too does the role of the Temple Chamber. At the Temple Chamber, we lead with vision and purpose. We are a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization funded through Membership Investment and non-dues revenue.
Our work is rooted in a dual structure where our governance model includes four divisions, deemed the Pillars of Excellence, that serve as foundational, enduring structures that define how the Temple Chamber is organized and fulfills our mission. The pillars include: Business & Community Development; Governmental Affairs; Membership Services; and Organizational Improvement.
