Written by: Claire Jones, Intern ![]() Wes Albanese started his own photography business around five years ago. Wes saw a lack of full-time photographers in the area and was interested in turning his photography hobby into a career. When he saw a rise in photographers, he knew it was time to jump in. Wes quit his job and took off with Wes Albanese Photography! Wes offers real estate photography, corporate headshots, individual portraits, family portraits, and weddings. For his real estate clients, Wes offers aerial photography and Matterport 3D tours. Wes commission some of his work and has offered photography classes. He runs a photo booth business, as well. Wes is motivated by the cell phone. Knowing that people walk around with a camera in their back pocket and yet they still choose to hire him excites Wes. It helps encourage him to keep putting in the hard work behind the camera. Using a professional camera helps him stand out from cell phone photos. Wes also understands that clients will choose one company over the other when looking online due to whether they have professional pictures or not. When starting Wes Albanese Photography, Wes did not want to limit himself to one area of photography as most photographers do. He set a goal to have seven different categories of photography offered in his business, and Wes has been able to surpass that goal. The next time you are in need of a photographer, reach out to Wes to see what all he can do! Written by: Claire Jones, UMHB Intern ![]() Much like the lightning bug, Firefly Yoga & Movement Studio brings light to dull places. In fact, that’s how owner Kelly Partyke chose the studio’s name. She wanted their mission of bringing light to the community to be clear. Kelly fell in love with yoga after her youngest of three boys was born. Yoga was the perfect balance of wellness and family, allowing her to feel successful in both. After discovering her passion for yoga, Kelly decided to become certified to share the gift of yoga with others. Kelly’s certification is in Holy Yoga, which is a form of Christian Faith based yoga. The studio offers a variety of yoga classes, including chair yoga for the less mobile, aerial yoga, and adult yoga classes. Firefly Yoga & Movement Studio also offers a semi-private program that serves those who are looking for a more goal-oriented wellness routine. Firefly is the only yoga studio in the Temple area. Not only do they offer yoga services but located in the studio you will also find a boutique. The boutique hosts an array of yoga apparel, supplies, and wellness lifestyle products. Firefly Yoga & Movement Studio states that, “when people feel better because of the benefits of yoga, they are generally kinder, and the world is just an all-around happier place.” They are grateful to be in the Temple area, because the fast-growing pace brings in new faces who are looking for a studio “home.” It is to the ones who come in daily, no matter their schedules or what is occurring inside their personal lives, that inspires Firefly to continue to spread its wings. People from all walks of life step in Firefly’s doors. What they experience inside is a new, supportive, and inclusive community. In the next 5 years, Firefly hopes to expand, and open other locations. Kelly closed by adding that what makes Firefly so unique is their teachers and students, and she challenges you to stop by and see it for yourself!
