Leadership Temple serves as a cornerstone initiative in developing skilled leaders dedicated to advancing the Temple community and the broader Central Texas region.
Developing Leaders Who Strengthen Temple’s Future
Leadership Temple is a premier leadership development program of the Temple Chamber designed to cultivate, equip, and connect emerging and established leaders across our community. Over the course of ten months, participants gain a deep understanding of the people, systems, and priorities shaping Temple and Central Texas, building the insight and relationships needed to lead with purpose.
Through immersive learning, direct engagement with key decision-makers, and hands-on experiences, Leadership Temple helps participants develop a comprehensive view of our economic, civic, and social landscape. Graduates finish the program prepared to make meaningful contributions in their workplace, industry, and the broader community.
Participants complete four outside activities during the program: attending a City Council meeting, attending a School Board meeting, and participating in two team-based service projects, one in the fall and one in the spring.

Class Day Curriculum
Each class day explores a core function of our region through on-site learning, conversations with leaders, and interactive sessions. Topics include:
- City Government
- Bell County Government
- State Government
- Education
- Healthcare
- Social Services
- Economic Development
- Fort Hood
- Public Safety
This curriculum provides participants with a comprehensive view of Temple’s economic, civic, and social landscape, preparing leaders to contribute meaningfully to the community’s continued growth.
Program Eligibility Guidelines
Leadership Temple is open to Members of the Temple Chamber or employees of Member organizations. Tuition applies, and limited scholarship assistance is available for eligible small businesses and nonprofit organizations.

Tuition Assistance Scholarship
To ensure this opportunity is accessible to a diverse range of leaders, the Leadership Temple Tuition Assistance Scholarship supports participation from small businesses and nonprofit organizations that are making a meaningful impact.
Eligible applicants include:

501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and churches

Small businesses operating for less than five years

Small businesses with annual gross revenue under $500,000
A limited number of partial scholarships are available. Recipients are responsible for a portion of the tuition, reinforcing a strong commitment to fully engage in and complete the program.
Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis by the Leadership Temple Selection Committee, with consideration given to the applicant’s experience, perspective, and demonstrated desire to contribute to the Temple community.
