It is National Small Business Week, and the Temple Chamber is excited to join the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) in celebrating our local small businesses and the nation’s 33 million small businesses!
Small business owners are the backbone of our economy, and we invite you to join us in celebrating the positive contributions of the greater Temple area’s small businesses and entrepreneurs this week, and always. From creating jobs to enhancing city revenues and supporting civic causes, they play a vital role in making our community a vibrant place to live and work and are one of driving factors that our region is one of the most desirable places to do business in Texas. We are fortunate to have the Governor’s Small Business Summit in Temple this Thursday, May 4, during National Small Business Week. The Summit is an opportunity for entrepreneurs, small business owners, and aspiring entrepreneurs to grow their business with other like-minded individuals. Whether they are just starting out or are seasoned entrepreneurs, there's something for everyone. An opportunity to learn from experts, network with other entrepreneurs, to take your business to the next level. We are grateful for our small business community and are here to support and help them thrive in Central Texas.

The holiday season always promises to be a wonderous time filled with the signs and sounds of Christmas!
This year you can add some special Holiday cheer and boost the local economy by shopping, dining, exploring, and enjoying all things local with Temple Chamber of Commerce members! Did you know that every dollar you spend cycles over in our community? As if by magic, the dollars spent locally cycle through the Temple area economy as much as seven times. In other words, every $1 spent locally equals $7 in local economic impact. It is really not magic, but the power of economics. Think of how those dollars help everyone. Every dollar spent in the Temple area strengthens our community. The stores, restaurants, and entertainment facilities we patronize pay taxes. Those taxes help pay for the services we expect, such as police, fire, and infrastructure. These businesses also pay salaries and wages to our neighbors, family, and friends. You can purchase all the goods and services imaginable in the Temple area. Join us this year by thinking about shopping with Temple Chamber Members first to keep our “magical” dollars at home and be part of building the local economy! This Holiday season, and always, give local businesses your support. There is no need to roam as the best shopping is at home. Let's have a Temple area Christmas!
